Apple Fires over Facebook

Since the company told the employes about making bad comments about the company, it was right for Apple to fire the employee. It makes any company look bad if their employees are talking bad about them. If I was an employee at Apple or anywhere,  I would know better than to talk about work especially when coworkers are your "friends". Everyone needs to have a release if they have a bad day at work, but just don't do it publicly which includes posting it on you wall. If I was he employer, I would be mad if I saw bad comments about my company. I would talk to the employee to see what the problem was and how to fix it, but putting it on Facebook isn't the right way to express your feelings.

  1. I agree that there are other outlets to release any work-related frustration and social media is not one of them. As the employee, I would have tried to confront someone about my negative feelings towards the company and try to fix whatever was wrong.

  2. I agree, although facebook seems like a good place to vent and have people sympathize with you, it's also a great place to get caught for saying nasty things.

  3. You make a good point. Most people vent about their jobs to some degree, it is the *publicly* venting that presents the problem. Secondly, venting in type is never a good idea. Privacy settings are frequently changed without user control and have to be reset manually. The lack of control over what has been posted online makes makes social media a reckless place to vent and easy place to be held accountable for your words.
